Get Involved
The PCCTC offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Our goal is to build a coordinated transportation system that allows people to remain healthy and active and involved in the community. Volunteers strengthen our network with their caring interaction with people. We can accomplish more as a community than we can as individuals! Come share your skills and talents. Together we can build a transportation system that responds to the needs of the people in our community.

Get Involved with Catholic Community Services
Providing services to low-income elderly and disabled adults can be a rewarding experience. Not only do our volunteers experience their clients regaining their independence, but making new friends and staying in contact with your community are added benefits. Here are two ways you can volunteer and become part of the coordinated transportation experience in Pierce County!
Volunteer Drivers
Volunteer Chore Services needs volunteer drivers to transport low-income senior citizens and disabled adult clients to medical appointments and on other essential errands. These clients have no other way to get to their appointments; they either do not qualify for other programs, have no family or neighbors available to drive them, are not able to take the bus or live outside bus service areas. Drivers use their own cars and receive monthly mileage reimbursement. Rides are dispatched by our staff and clear directions are given. Drive weekly or daily; whatever fits your schedule. Must have a valid WA driver's license, auto insurance and a clean driving record, and will undergo a WA State Patrol background check.

Bus Buddies
Are you an expert at riding the bus? Want to help other people learn how? Ride along with someone and teach them how to use public transit and read bus schedules and route maps. Learning how to ride the bus helps people become more independent. If you have spare time, a friendly attitude and know how to plan and take bus trips, please give us a call. We provide training, support and a monthly bus pass to Bus Buddy volunteers. You'll be matched with someone in your community who needs your help.
