Beyond the Borders
Beyond the Borders is a free transportation service provided by Pierce County Community Connections. Older adults, individuals with disabilities, people with lower incomes and youth (age 12 to 17) living in rural Pierce County may be eligible for transportation from home to their destination or to the nearest bus stop and back. In some communities there are Beyond the Borders bus routes.
Beyond the Borders offers two types of service:
- There are two bus routes
- There are grouped trips for people who do not live near the bus routes

Beyond the Borders provides service to eligible individuals who reside in or travel to designated rural areas of south and east Pierce County that are located outside the Pierce Transit service area. These areas include the communities of: Bonney Lake, Buckley, Burnett, Carbonado, Cascade Junction, Eatonville, Elk Plain, Frederickson, Graham, Kapowsin, McKenna, Prairie Ridge, Roy, South Prairie, Spanaway, Sumner and Wilkeson. The service area is subject to change.
Rides must be requested at least 24 hours in advance. during regular business hours (Mon - Fri, 9am to 5pm)
