Rural WashingtonLaunch Interactive MapBeyond the Borders is a free transportation service provided by Pierce County Community Connections.

Senior citizens, people with disabilities and people with low incomes living in rural areas of Pierce County may be eligible for transportation from home to their destination, or to the nearest bus stop and back. The rides help people to access public transportation, medical services, employment, shopping, and social activities.

The service area in rural Pierce County includes Graham, South of 224th and east of Meridian, Kapowsin, McKenna, Roy, Eatonville, Orting, South Prairie, Buckley, Burnett, Carbonado and Wilkeson.

This is a "shared ride" system. Your ride may be "grouped" with other riders.

You will be picked up at your home, and if your destination is within the area served by Pierce Transit, you will be dropped off at the nearest bus stop for transfer to the "SHUTTLE" or to a fixed-route, public transit bus.

Beyond the Borders connects riders with Pierce Transit fixed-route buses or the ADA accessible SHUTTLE. Riders may also connect with Sound Transit, King County Metro or Intercity Transit (from Roy and Yelm to Olympia).

Rides are offered six days a week. All rides are based on reservations, so you must call to schedule the ride at least 24 hours before it is needed.
