The Travel Ambassador Program offers half day training sessions on the travel and transportation options available in Pierce County. It is especially valuable for social service and agency professionals who serve senior citizens, people with disabilities, and people with low incomes. You will learn about:
How to take a bus and access route planning help for both local and regional public transit; how to get a "Bus Buddy" for one-to-one help on using the bus; what Medicaid paratransit service is and who is eligible; what Shuttle service is and who is eligible; free rides provided through volunteer transportation services; free transportation in rural Pierce County; WorkFirst transportation; and United Way's 211 Travel information hotline.

The Puget Sound Educational Services District (PSESD) offers a free, on the job training program for Community Jobs or Supported Work Participants who are interested in becoming drivers. Upon completion of the program, the participant will receive a "Class B" CDL which qualifies them for work as a bus driver or truck driver.
